Well this is a project in a very formative stage, hopefully with photo updates as I progress... in fact at the moment it's a brick shed attached to the house, full of gardening implements and all sorts of other clutter. I'm an outcast in my own home and it's the outside life for me and my radio It does have a nice view though!! Currently we have a rather embarrasing old kitchen table supporting the hf rig, psu and laptop. But my hopes are high One day, it will be a match for those amazing shacks you stumble across on the web, often from the U.S. with lush desks made from exotic trees that a practically extinct. I'll do a photo tomorrow to show everyone just how much there is to do, and what a shambles I have at the moment. One major hiccup/oversight in my master plan is that I forgot that things aren't quite so nice at night... I'll give you a clue in saying that I'm an arachnophobe!! Not too sure how I'm going to get around this... but the saving grace is that I've never been a big fan of the nightime bands ;D Either that or in a years time I'll fry them all with RF. A proper desk is a priority!! cheers, Andy

My Shack is bizzarre and small to say the least. Don't worry Andy shacks come in all sizes and all states It's in the corner next to my chair in the living room. It's sat on a round wooden table that should house something small and light not big and heavy like a radio and ATU. Next to it is my knitting machine and just up and to one side of the radio on the book shelf is the 4 mtr radio. I too will be getting my camera out to photograph it if I can get in on the angle.... Look forward to seeing your pic's everyone

Welcome to 'spider city' I'd hoped to show a broader picture of the shed but the trouble with bird photographers is that 300mm is wide angle So the wide end of my 70-200 had to do here. I'll see about getting my proper wide angle back from a friend this week. Anyway, as you can see things are very basic at this stage... the table is a disgrace but at least I removed the ashtray from shot Note the desk mic is for effect not use, in fact it's the first time it has been plugged in to the radio.

Thnak for the welcome and I'm glad you like the Badger photos... I live in a urban area, so this one was a big surprise but very welcome. One thing I will be doing with the shack, although the garden is very secure, is getting some alarm systems... they are cheap, so no excuses. cheers, Andy

I would kill for a space like that too Andy. It's a great idea for those that have external buildings to turn it into a shack.. I am sure that in a year or two it will have loads of radio equipment in there so agree the alarm system might be a very wise installation. 73's, Zo

Bit more of a clean-up ...cobwebs have gone (although their makers probably haven't). Picked up a cheap desk and found some shelving. More space with the new desk, ample room for that Acom 1000 next year I like the laptop up the top, nice viewing level (and better signal from router) but not so good for keyboard use... so for £9 a compact usb keyboard has been added, which fits away nicely in the lowest shelf. I'm still finding bits from 10-20yrs ago lurking in the attic... hence a handy 7-9amp psu and a scanner. If only i could find that old Yaesu ATU

That's a dream radio room there pal! I love how you've got the serenity of nature out the window in all its simlicity and calm sort of competing with the live bustle of the desktop..actually a very good photo!
