Are you thinking of going Martin? I am sure it will be a good gig. Not sure that I would be able to get there and back though so might have to give that a miss unless Den wants to go.

Ironic, a thread on Hawkwind ;D Hope it's a great gig, haven't seen them for over 10 years now... but I've been using 'Hawkwind' as a web name since 1995. More of a fan of Hawkwind close relatives The Pink Fairies... but for some reason I shy away from that as a name of the web cheers, Andy

I am not surprised Andy, I would shy away from a web name like that too and I am not a man Lol Not sure I have heard any of The Pink Fairies, however I do like lots of music from lots of different bands and Hawkwind are pretty cool along with many others 73's, Zo

The Fairies generally had a harder edge than Hawkwind, so if you prefer Urban Guerilla to Space is Deep, then the Fairies are probably more 'up your street'. Both bands were appreciated by the early Punks, in fact Johnny Rotten is often quoted as saying the Fairies were his favourite pre-punk band. cheers, Andy

Thanks for the info Andy though, you never know when it will come in hand ;D Cheer's Zo

Sorry, that was probably more for the original poster... in a long-winded way I was just suggesting another closely related band to investigate if he enjoys Hawkwind.
cheers, Andy

Aaah, good old hawkwind, always good to mosh to, and megadeth is reyt enuf, though I only like a couple of there songs, I will still listen to them if I am out. I love all kinds of music, but it has to have meaning and soouulllll. Nowt wrong with a bit of dance music either, just none of that chipmonk stuff, even I would draw the line at that. :/
