We are aiming to make this site as welcoming and as informative as possible. We welcome all idea's and suggestions. Some we will use other's we many not. We are a new site and we know there are Radio Amateurs and SWL's out there who are more knowledgeable than we are about the hobby, so if you have any info that we could use then please, please get intouch and let us know your idea's on how to improve the site.

2nd post and I'm telling you how to run your forum Not a great start but these are only suggestions. 1: Having an admin manually activating memberships is not good for site growth (in fact very bad)... yep, it can deter spam and suchlike but the losses of potential members far outweighs the benfits. If you can have mods/admin that have a look at the site every 6 hours or so, that should take care of any problem accounts that have appeared. Having e-mail confirmation for an active account already helps to some degree in detering problems. You could say 'well, if they can't be bothered to wait, then they can't be that interested in joining anyway' ...but surfers are like shoppers in a high street, there's plenty of shops around for them if your shop has a 'back in 1hr' notice on the door, they will be unlikely to come back. You need to get people in the door and then you can 'nab' them ;D 2: Turn off some of your forums so that unregistered visitors cannot see them. This acts as a lure for people to register. Don't turn off too many, as you need googlebots and other search engine bots to pick up info for the search engines... which is a big part in getting new blood on the site (it's how I came here) 3: If you can, and I'm not familiar with this particular forum software, visually break up what forums you have into sections... 'Say Hello' froum should be uppermost, maybe with rules and guidelines forum. Off-topic forums should really be towards the bottom... but it depends upon what you want from a forum community. Bottome line, it's your site and you have your own ideas of what it should accomplish. cheers Andy

Hi Andy, I don't really see it as you telling us what to do, just giving us some good advice and being as we are not so clever in the board world then it is appreciated believe me. I have wondered why we don't seem to get so many people interested and what can we do to improve the state of affairs and what you are saying sound pretty much correct. So on that I am thinking about what you have suggested and will start looking into how to sort it out for the benefit of the forum. Thanks Andy and No offence has been taken Zo

I am glad that everyone is happy but if anyone does have any other idea's that are viable then please let us know. I am with you on that one about new members to chat away with Janine Renae, Your help has already proved invaluable my friend. I am just doing a spot of revamping to tidy the place up a little and make it easier for others to cope with. You may have idea's at a later date
