Hi Zo
I was'nt to sure what you were asking for here, i.e. website suggestions or just common to amateur radio.
Anyway, just to start the subject off, I have a very simple suggestion/idea for those SOTA activists who on climbing to the summit carry the SOTA pole in one hand and the SOTA beam in the other. Use VELCRO fasteners attached to the rear of your pack/bergan.
I use only the 2m SOTA beam attached to the WASP Special. I acquired two lengths of velcro, cut them to length so they fitted round both when clipped together in the carrying mode, then sewed both pieces of velcro, one above the other on the rear of the bergan. The SOTA pole and WASP now are carried on the rear of the bergan which allows for only the Leki pole to be carried in one hand to aid walking..........
I'm sure others use other means of carrying their equipment but this is just the method that I use.

Hi Ian, Excellent Idea for keeping the hands free for other things such as walking poles. I must admitt I need a walking pole or two because one leg is shorter than the other due to an accident when I was 16...R.T.A. Balance tends to go scew wiff when walking up hills and down hill for that matter.
This board is for any good idea's or suggestions related to both Radio Amateur's and the Website. If you have anymore good idea's such as this one then post away! You never know who may need the suggestions...Thanks again!
