Hi Folks, I was wondering how the terrible state of world economics was affecting people? It seems to be hitting everybody, banks won't lend to banks, mortgages being called in, i hope all our members arn't hit to badly.

Not affecting us.
The place Dave works for is doing great right now, very busy, a lot of accounts so no worries there.
We don't have any debt ( our house has been paid off for 4 years so no mortgage, no credit card debt, no other loans) Though Tiff's college fund went down a bit but we are still ok with that.
All our friends and family still have their jobs and doing ok.
If it weren't for the news we personally would not know the economy is bad.

Hi folks!! Me too-I got out of debt a dozen yrs ago and stayed that way-so I bank bigtime. That truck I own I paid cash for 7 yrs ago and it has been totally trouble free since new! All this wouldnt be possible without the smart guidance of my Rosie and my wisdom to heed! Bottom line-people like us here who are smart with their money will be better off than those who practice greed and spending more than they have!

I think my one peice of advice to everyone is Banks are not your friend! better to keep cash than have money in a place you can't get to it in a hurry. Or better still invest it all in radio gear that will depreciate very little

Hi, Like yourselves it is not affecting us directly, as we prefer to deal in cash. What i do find annoying is that our Prime minister Gordon Brown is giving the banks a hefty cash sum in an effort to try and sort the mess out, but in the end it is us little folk, the taxpayer who will foot the bill . Even though it is not our fault, i think this is out of order. Also, a lot of our town councils and some Police forces had money invested in the Icelandic bank that went bust, the next town to us Burnley (where Lichy lived), has lost £1,000,000 and guess who is having to foot that loss, yep the townsfolk. Where will it all end?? 73's de Den.

Funny, Den, that what your Gordon Brown is doing is exactly what our George Bush is-so basically on top of having to pay the way for the lazies who wish not to earn their stuff in my country, I must now help bail out the GREEDY rich guys who screwed up too!! Ah, caught in the middle again, huh Renae?!
