WOW I pray no floods!! You guys get enough severe stuff there with tornadoes I hope all is OK! we are lucky here, sunny today and no rain in the forecast for awhile. Last winter we had a very snowy winter, I am hoping not the same this years, usually a snowy winter is followed by a colder than average winter

I feel in my gut we're in for a strong winter this year! same here, it has been about 9-10 years since we have had a really cold winter,I am feeling a below zero regular temperature winter. last winter we had so much snow all of February and through March we had snow every few days. Normally we get snow January and February . Saw this article in the local newspaper, this is close to our house (the Creek is less than a mile away, this happened further down the creek about 3 miles away) www.suburbanchicagonews.com/heraldnews/news/1163351,4_1_JO15_NLDIVE_S1.article

Holy crap!! Well this is sad-not to mention their parents obviously didnt drive home the golden rule of "and DON'T play in floodwater-it is essentially SEWAGE!!!!" I remember when I was a kid in Itasca andafter a HUGE rainstorm, that little innocent brook that ran thru the center of town turned into a monsterous monsoon of raw sewage and dead crawdads all over the streets!!

Oh well hope the weather is calming down there Renae! yes it has been sunny since Monday. the zoo I volunteer at had to close Sunday and Monday due to flooding, the basements of a lot of the buildings were flooded and pathways were flooded, had to move some animals to other areas of the zoo, but all is well, no animals or people were harmed
