Looks like cracking Tropo openings on VHF / UHF, so I've decided its time to go and dig the tripod and a few rigs out and find a local hill and see what I can get on SSB on 2m. as well as checking out 2fm, 4, 6 and 10m to see whats happening.
Tomorrow is supposed to be equally as good but more northerly, luckly I am going into the lakes tomorrow.

I had some 70-90mile 2FM qso's aided by a touch of tropo yesterday and last week. There's often a touch of it around, but other than repeaters it can be abit hard to tell if simplex is a bit quiet. I never put too much faith in tropo forecasting sites... it's always fantastic in a few days time, but when that day arrives, the forecast has changed and there's nothing ...just like the weather.

yesterday was rather good, 27th July I managed someone 20 miles of Glasgow, and a welsh station from home, which is not best situated for even getting 70 miles let alone the distances yesterday
