I recently bought a GPS kit for my Laptop and seeing how accurate the google earth location is from it it got me to thinking... what if, I could combine a old laptop motherboard with an old motorolla HT600. Now the HT600's featured MASC encryption, and Stun plus tracking in their own right. Using a PMR Data channel and encryption I theoretically should be able to transmit GPS locations via the 600 and recieve them anywhere. But the gem of this idea is that Because its using the MASC data board which has stun available I thought well its got stun, so how do I wire that into the vehicle to stop it dead, ie like a imobilizer. Because the Radio is stunned remotely no current would get through to the starter therefore shutting the system down, obviously its not that simple but. Imagine, a cheap fleet control system that can stop your fleet being stollen from scrap kit laying around in the garage ! Anyone any thoughts, Obviously I need to talk to ofcom about using the PMR data channels in this way, but I think it should be within the Business licence remit and will not be hampered by me not being a 2e yet due to the fact that everything is off the shelf, so to speak. The only complexity is the software build and the imobilizor electronics, but that should just be the case of a switch. The Best bit about this is that the Motherboard doesn't require all the massive batteries that it would in a standard situation as you can take a feed straight off the fuse box
