Im in need of information on the cobweb antenna,how does the cobweb perform compared to a dedicated dipole,.do they servive the gale force winds,and how high do they have to be to work best.

Hi Wayne, The cobwebb performs excellently compared with a dipole as the aerial is 5 folded dipoles itself, using 10w i have worked dx from the U.S. to eastern Europe and from the arctic cirle to Africa. They will survive a strong gale and should be at about 20-30ft above ground. Although this is an arbitary figure as they work at any height.
