Most of us use varying lengths of string etc. to support the various portable masts we use, but not all prove effective. Just purchased a set of four military antenna or mast support halliyards, at least 65 feet long and with a egg insulator and snap link at one end. These are tropicalised (they smell really strongly!) and are "new-old-stock". Very strong and durable. These have been stored in dry conditions, are in their original wrappings and believed to be of French army origin. Will be using them to support the 21' seven section alluminium mast when out portable in the coming months.......

It's amazing what you can find when you look around isn't it? That should serve the purpose of supporting your mast really well Ian. Good Find.
