Ok I have a halo which I figured was for horizontal, but I get lots of noise and no chat, so I am wondering if it could simply be wrong orientation what do you all use?

Erm I am not sure exactly what antenna we use for 4 mtrs but it worked well locally. I could not say what it would be like further a field Martin because as of yet not heard anyone on who is far away enough to decide if it is good or not. Hopefully Den might know which make of antenna it is.

I've found out now the halo should be flat ---- that way if its the other way it works more like a beam. Great for SSB if you have an SSB rig, which of course I don't currently. Due to the wx forecast for the weekend I think the 4m halo goes up today

Good Luck with the putting up of Halo Martin:) Yup I had heard that the weather was going to be cold again this weekend. Heard someone on 2 Mtrs say they had heard you on 4 Mtrs so sounds like the 4 Mtrs may be running ok.

not sure about nodes, but there are definitely repeaters, and we have had a lift again, I managed to get south wales on 70cm today which is Astounding, nobody else would take the CQ but a welsh guy in Treherbert replied
