Hi I am Martin, also known as the Liche or M3VQE (me very quiet echo) I passed my UK Foundation in December 2007 and have been active on both 70cm and 2m. I am currently reading the Intermediate and full license books and am looking forwards to doing my intermediate so that I can build my own kit. I am interested in building a power reducer to take my 2m rig down to 1w just to see what is possible to work on 1w.
I've not had chance to play with HF yet, due to the fact that every time I think I have cash for a HF rig something goes wrong and I need to re-allocate funds. However I am planning on building a Softrock Tranciever
I am also a First aider, and enjoy in my spare time doing public first aid duties. I also run a HSE Business.

Hi Again Martin,
Isn't it always the case, you get some funds together towards the new radio you want and then something else happens that means we can't buy the radio until later on. Same kind of thing happend to me as you know car died and will probably cost hundreds to get back on road. Sheeeeesh that is the way of life....

well hopefully tomorrow or friday I will have access to 6m and 10m with my new FT 8900R failing that a really long piece of string and two plastic cups (wonders how long a piece of string can be) I also have a 4m Set coming so that sets me up with UHF VHF and MF yet I want to get onto 160m as I have a contact in the USA I'd like to try working (she's rather Cute, and don't tell the Wife ) more about that on m3vqe.livejournal.com my own personal radio journal not my own journal which is martinhazel.livejournal.com

have never made an 160 mtr contact cos I don't have antenna for it... yet! But it is good being able to have these contacts and make friends all over the world isn't it I am sure Martin that we could put a piece of string between our QTH's and get each other ps. I won't tell the wife When the conditions are right it is amazing how far we can get Renae and I am sure we will get amazing contacts here and there for years to come

Well from a Junior member to an Admin and a teacher how things are changing. I must admit it is nice to be appreciated, and this community should be proud of its self. Of all the amateur newsgroups and forums I am on this is the one with the least pregnant doging and moaning

haha no I don't eat McD's its against my morals (yes I do have some) Yes I am thin, but I can eat for the UK sometimes, but other times I only bother with a meal a day. Maybe its due to hard times and force of habit years ago, maybe its the Lyme, who knows, but I am sure as hell its not genetic as my Dad was a fat man (last time I saw him 12ish years ago he must have been around 45 stone) and my Mum had Thiriod problems that led to her death in 89. There again, my uncle on my dads side is my height and build so I suppose its possible If I have to do Junk food its gotta be a Kebab I am afraid, or a curry as to what I teach well theres first aid, health and safety awareness, site provisioning, programming and oh yes how not to do things. The rest I could tell you but you'd be embarrassed (ROFL you lot here embarrassed)
