I know I've only been licenced for a short period but I've realised that I am actually very unhappy, In the time I've been licenced I've been shouted at, told off like a school boy, told I'm rubbish, and more over stalked around the net, not that I have anything to hide, but its got to me, I am considering just going back to using business radios.
OfCom Visited again today, asking loads of q's but not wanting to check any of my gear which is kind of wierd. Red Cross has now had a formal complaint against me from another service user (Service users are Red Cross, Social Services, Police, RSPCA, Raynet, St Johns and WRVS) And the Head of red cross says he may have to suspend me whilst investigations go on. WTF I've been 999% above board, never stepped out of line and love the job. So Why me?
I'm going to take some time out from the HAM Community from tomorrow for a few months and see if it makes me feel any more charitable failing that I am going to walk away. I am fed up of cyber stalkers, hate email etc, the reason I say tomorrow is that I need to tell the nearly club I am involved in.

Hi Martin, That would be a shame, you enjoy amateur radio so much. Why let a few idiots put you down? Please think carefully about any decision you make and don't be too hasty.
73's de Den.

OK Martin- you're a radio guy. You apparently have worked very hard to get where you are now even through adversity in health! We, your small forum family say you should cool out and hang in. Let the radio nazis act the way they do and dont accept the insult. Hope you consider this:)

Well pretty much everyone at club said the same thing on Thursday night, unfortunately I have a sneaky feeling that me being ill at the moment is a sign that I have massively overdone it recently, I left club early feeling rather very ill and still am not feeling brilliant. I haven't even managed to get on air of late, but thats due to my 6am starts and being in bed mostly by late teatime. I am pretty much lucky on a thursday that I can stay up a bit later :Z
Still I will see what happens

Hi Martin, Look at it this way, you have more mates then enemies . Zo and myself have now been banned from the Burnley and district radio club, merely because we have dared to attend a second club. So as far as i'm concerned they have just spit there dummies out, and are acting like kindergarden kids. Don't let them get to you, just treat them with the contempt they deserve. 73's de Den.

This is the trouble with clubs,....I have never been a member of a radio club and never will,...It doesn't matter what club it is,..i,e...radio stamp collecting,...railway,...working mans clud,...there all the same, more hassle than is needed,....I used to be a member of my local metal detecting club,as that was one of my hobbies,..that was the same, every one had to be better than every one else...certain members had to brag about there equipment being better because it cost more, and found more....I think half the things that they said they had found had been bought from sales,.....becouse they always found good things at the clubs monthly find,...the same guys always won the best find of the month,...it was crazy,...that ended my club joining days,I little off the subject but this is my opinion on any type of club!

Well looking back at things I have been a little touchy, I didn't realise that by doing what they are they are digging their own pits. After all I would say to anyone try any club out before you join you save yourself a lot of heartache that way

Hubby and a friend of ours are in one club, he doesn't go to all the meeting only a "select few" and we both do field day with the club...but field day is the extend of my club involvement.

I actually am in negotiations with a HA bikers club who are interested in becoming HAMS that will worry some people, whats even funnier is they are also interested in becoming RAYNet, as they already are all certified Doorstaff so it could and probably would bring them more business. Funny the way the world works isn't it

Hi Martin,
I am so glad that you have decided to stay in the hobby. You would think that we left our bully days behind at school when we left but alas it is rather more and more apparent that we didn't. Adults just get slyer at it although for some of us it doesn't matter how sly they get they still stick out like sore thumbs... lol. I was quite impressed with Franks comments about the Nazi days....giggle but Frank you were quite right thats how these folks are coming over. Anyways Martin glad you are sticking in there my friend.
